We’re doing a free show this Thursday at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa.. It’s going to be a load of fun. Looking forward to playing with our special guests, The Colourist.
Come grab a drink with us an celebrate as we emerge, blinking, into daylight… Actually, we won’t be doing that, will we? Doors open at 9PM, so even with the best will in the world and daylight savings time on our side, we wont be seeing the sun. Ah well, it’s good for the “Noir” image! And a little Vitamin D deficiency never hurt anyone, did it? Did it?

In other news, we never told you how our DJ set went! It was brilliant. We have impeccable taste. There you go!

And finally, here’s a picture of us at Riviera Magazine’s “Sexy Party” last week… It looks quite steamy, doesn’t it?

Just a short update today, I’m afraid.. Got to get back to work on some pretty cool things..
Thought we should let you know, though, that we’ll be emerging from our little bunker tomorrow night (June 12) long enough to spin some amazing, perhaps even never-before-heard tracks at Memphis in Costa Mesa..
Come say hello to us, grab a drink, etc. It’s a free party, sponsored in part by a really cool local shop, Treasury Dept. Stop by there before Memphis (it’s pretty much next door) to get 20% off some hip clothes. Who knows? Maybe we’ll even end up wearing the same coat (how embarrassing!).
Here’s the flyer:

Also, Luke insisted I use the phrase “Str8 Stinkazzz” but I’m not entirely sure why..

We’ve taken a brief break from shows for the merry, merry month of May to work on some new stuff.
If you sit quietly and are careful not to make any sudden movements, however, you might see us emerge from our little hidey-hole, noses twitching, eyes squinting in the early evening sunlight, to do a few guest DJ sets at hip events around town.
The “DIY” video is still in rotation on mtvU, and has been picked up by almost every retail location/ restaurant/ cruise line you’ve ever been in! The track has been put in regular rotation on a handful of radio stations across the country, and we even sent a few of prize packs to The Spy 105.3fm in Oklahoma City, OK.
Got to get back to work! More substantial news soon.

First of all, our debut single, “DIY”, just keeps picking up steam.
Not only is it in rotation on mtvU, it’s also on Much Music in Canada and Fuse TV on demand.
All this month, the video will be played relentlessly in bars and restaurants throughout the country, and through the whole of June, it will be in 1,500 Footlocker stores. We’ve also picked up placement on Jed The Fish’s syndicated “Out of Order” radio show (45 stations), as well as countless front-page features on various websites. There’s more stuff, but the point is: we’re excited!
Not bad for a couple of guys with no idea what they’re doing!
So we’re going to Coachella this weekend. We’re not playing this year, but I think people will still enjoy it.
Best of all we have VIP tickets and it’s all free, because Luke, as we mentioned in an early blog-post, is one of a handful of artists who designed a recycling bin.
So keep an eye out for this paean to the pencil mustache – featuring Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and a nightmarish Little Richard.

We had a ton of fun yesterday doing a little interview and live performance on “NewsRaw”, hosted by Mekahlo Medina on NBC here in LA. We performed an exclusive acoustic version of “White Jazz”, which you will probably never see anywhere again. I don’t mean it’s bad! I just mean this video is special! Apparently we’re the first people to bring in a little keyboard for an on-air performance. You can’t see it in the video, but Luke’s playing a $5 Casio SK-1.
The show’s shot at a little desk in the back corner of the KNBC newsroom, right next to the big green screen where they do the weather forecast, so of course we were messing about with that before we went on camera! Without a doubt the most exciting “green room” we’ve ever been in. We’ll also have a little behind the scenes video for you in a bit. The proper weather man walked past and said “It’s not as easy as it looks, is it?”
We also played a blinding set at Detroit Bar last night. If we’d have traveled from the studio to the venue by helicopter, it would have almost fulfilled our pop star fantasies, but instead we were stuck in traffic for hours in that nightmare stretch between Burbank and anywhere!
Here’s Luke giggling and gesturing at nothing in particular like the inexperienced meteorologist he is:
And here’s a shot of the NBC building. Inside it was a maze of hallways and tunnels!
