As our mum asked, “is that good?” Yes, it’s quite good! We’ve charted above Johnny Cash, Cypress Hill and Gorillaz.
With the progression of our radio campaign we at least hope to tie with She & Him, who currently hold the #2 spot, at which point we’ll consider changing our name to “Them Two & The Other One”, or perhaps “Us & Nico”. In other news, Luke is one of twenty-six artists chosen from 1,000s to decorate a recycling bin for this year’s Coachella festival. So, who knows – perhaps you’ll be throwing away a half-eaten vegan hot dog into Luke’s artwork… and getting shouted at, because this is a RECYCLING bin! Trash goes in the other one!
Finally, here’s a picture of Joe with a picture of Joe going for a bit of a Droste effect at Hause of Howe headquarters. So adept is he at recursive photography, he’s doing it with his eyes closed!

And now, on their behalf, we’ve done a live review of Wild Beasts‘ first-ever Los Angeles show, February 11th at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. But it’s not just any live review; it’s a mini graphic novel, chock-full of Crumb references and witty puns!
One group reviewing another for a popular music magazine, but as a comic book? Does this qualify as pop eating itself? Or just Pop (Noir) drawing themselves? You be the judge!

Pop Noir grabbed the interest of French listeners because of their name and get noticed here in the States because of their similarities to New Order—and because their father designed Joy Division’s album covers. These twin musicians-slash-illustratorsand their drummer Nico Saavedra will be releasing their single ‘DIY’ today, and they explain here about making music, bathing separately and designing websites for cartoon penises.
